Golf tournament fundraiser benefits Cameron’s Sports and Exercise Science Department

DUNCAN, OK (TNN) – The Cameron University Sports and Exercise Science Department got a boost from the community Monday with a golf tournament fundraiser. About 18 teams participated in the fundraiser, which aims to get money to buy new equipment for the Sports and Exercise Science Golf tournament fundraiser benefits Cameron’s Sports and Exercise Science Department 1department. This is the third year to hold the tournament, but the first year it was at The Territory Golf Course in Duncan. Tyson Chambers says it’s essential to bring in extra money so they can continue to provide equipment to their players and the community. “We have a lot of students involved, more community involvement in our department, so it’s important for us to reach out and help the community,” said Tyson Chambers, the Cameron University’s Sports and Exercise Department instructor. Community members from Duncan and Lawton participated, and the top players earned money and decorated mugs. They received around $2,000 through Monday’s fundraiser.
