It’s My Job to Know What’s Cool in Fashion—These Are 13 Pieces I’m Wearing Now

What’s Cool in Fashion is a series where our managing editor, Kristen Nichols, highlights the tendencies and architects on her radar—and how she’s sporting them IRL. As a style editor for Who What Wear, I am continuously focused on the developments unfolding, from runway suggestions to the road fashion scene to product-hitting retailers. When it comes to the clothing I’m carrying, I’m frequently deciphering the developments for myself and working them into my non-public fashion. You’ll regularly see me posting dresses on my Instagram account, @kristenmarienichols, with pictures of the objects I’m sporting and an intimate glimpse at my lifestyle as a Who What Wear editor.

So, what is on my radar now? I always have my eye out for new skills, and I’ve added portions from on-the-rise designers like Rotate, The Range, and Fry Powers that have caught my eye. These manufacturers are tapping into excellent developments like application pants, tropical colorings, and pearl jewelry, which have taken the style world by using typhoons in 2019. I’ve also been wearing splendid unearths from lower-priced retailers like & Other Stories and H&M. They have excellent fundamentals like luxe satin blazers, racer tanks, and fashion-forward portions like wide-leg jeans in canary yellow. See the 13 pieces I’m carrying now and store the edit for yourself.

I recently picked up this patent skirt from LPA, which has become one of my staples for the office. It updates a traditional pencil skirt form with a sleek finish.

An exceptional duster coat is one of the gadgets that became enormously missing from my closet. When I noticed this one from Reformation, I knew it was exactly what I was looking for. Kaia Gerber was seen sporting it, which made me even more satisfied that I observed the appropriate coat for my wardrobe.

Utility pants are of the critical 2019 traits I’m very behind. The pair from The Range is just the best.

I’m a massive fan of classic portions that I’ll be able to wear for years and years, consisting of those two new items in my cloth cabinet. L.A. Emblem Helfrich designs the best bodysuits, which I’ve been wearing because of the base of my clothes these days. And I merely located those tweed pants from Tularosa, which could easily transition from the workplace to a night out.

You’ll know that most of my clothes are rooted in neutrals like black and tan. However, I do love a punch of color on occasion. These yellow wide-leg jeans from H&M honestly deliver on that. Bonus: They’re now on sale for merely $25.

Speaking of H&M, this pinnacle is another terrific location I uncovered from the store. It has fantastic minimum strains and a racer silhouette that feels like the second. I paired the top with earrings from Fry Powers—a fab label I later discovered. It works with recycled pearls, and this stunning Baroque jewelry is gorgeous.

Ankle boots are a must in my cloth cabinet, and those from Dear Frances are the most up-to-date ones to land in my closet. I can’t determine which element I love more—the luxe fake-croc finish or the glossy kitten heel.
Rotate is one brand that is expected to be everywhere in 2019. Its portions are laugh and funky and ideal for a night out.
A large section of my closet is committed to blazers, but I made room for this new one from & Other Stories. The satin end feels stylish and immediately makes a comfortable outfit with denim and a top feel sophisticated. Another have to in my wardrobe? I cannot get enough of this sculptural necklace from Bagatiba (an L.A.-based jewelry emblem).

Mini baggage is every insider’s style accent in their closet, and this one from Jeu Illimité is my present-day crucial.
